Sterling 4, Potty/Mom 0

Today I officially began to potty train Sterling.

Let's just say it wasn't all sunshine and roses...or clean floors and dry undies.

I know several people who have had success with the potty training in a day method.  That didn't happen here despite my strong desire.

He peed in his pants three times.  He pooped in them once.  He did NOTHING in the potty despite his many attempts.

Oh well, we'll go again tomorrow.

Ladies Man

Harrison is telling me about a girl who is texting him and how he doesn't even really know her.

I told him to be nice that she obviously likes him.

"Mom, there's not a girl alive who doesn't like me."  He says as nonchalantly as if he just told me that he needs clean socks.

Today I was a good wife and took both babies and went ice fishing with Jim.  Sterling loves loves loves to go fishing.  He would sit there and watch his little ice fishing pole and ask, "I got a bite daddy?  I got a bite?".  Of course after the first three minutes with no fish then he was ready to run all around the frozen lake calling out, "Come eer Eden come eer!"  This left me to walk around after two toddlers paranoid that they were going to fall into someone else's abandoned fishing hole.

They had a good time though.  They both have sunburned little cheeks.
Note to self, when going ice fishing it's important to put on sunscreen.

I'm cooold...aka...I want to cuddle.

When Sterling wants to cuddle these days he says, "I'm coooold" (with shivering emphasis).  Sometimes he really is cold.  Other times, he just says it so I'll pick him up and cuddle him close.
My favorite phrase of his lately, "Okay mom."  The way he says it is just so cute.

Harrison is stressed about his solos for his upcoming role in the Broadway rendition of Footloose.  His teacher is confident in him and I'm proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone.  When Harrison wants to cuddle he'll either tell me to "bring it in, bring it in" while beckoning me to him or he'll just come lay down with his head in my lap.

Zoey is charming her teachers and thick as thieves with her friend Anahi.  They are currently plotting to have Anahi move in to our house when her family moves to Ogden.  When Zoey wants a cuddle she'll practically sit on top of me she scootches up so close on the couch.

Eden is climbing up onto the couches now and giving me a heart attack every three minutes.  She's finally getting some hair and uses a lot of words.  She's a stingy little thing with the kisses.  She'll go several days without giving me a one and then she'll have night when I put her to bed and she'll insist on seven in a row.  When she wants a cuddle she'll just climb in my lap.

Today I took Harrison and Zoey, with a friend each, and Sterling and Eden to Classic Skating.  I was volunteering with the PTA and it was NDJH night.  Eden just kept dancing like a maniac.  She would do the whole "maniac" dancing scene from Flashdance.  Then she would pump her arm up and down and then lay on the floor and roll over just to jump up and start all over again.

Today I am grateful for fun times, cute kids, and a devoted husband.
